Tell us about your career journey – where did it all start?

As a determined young, independent girl, daughter of a builder, who loved math, all the blokes on my Dad's sites hated the tax man and kept saying 'Linda will be an accountant and look after us'. This stuck and at 17 years old studying for my A levels I wrote to every accountancy firm in Leicestershire asking for an ACCA training contract. I got one and after 14 first time passes qualified at the age of 20.

What would your younger self say if they could see you now?

You did it! Every day I go to work and help small business stay compliant, achieve deadlines and I help to remove the complexity of running a small business. Who ever you are – with hard work, courage, bravery, no money and a support network dreams do come true.
