Tell us about your career journey – where did it all start?

From childhood I admired my mother’s determination to excel academically and professionally. This became the benchmark for my career. My first exposure to accounting ignited a passion, and ACCA membership became my goal. Pursuing full time and then part time, during the daunting times I used that resilient strength learnt from my mother to move from a temporary employee to a manager of finance, FCCA.

What would your younger self say if they could see you now?

Wow! Who knew that shy little girl (literally) would’ve become not just a manager but a leader. Leading her teams through changing accounting standards, and also developing behaviours and leadership skills in them. It’s not just how you start but more so how you navigate and finish!
